Green turtles, coral gardens and the drop-off, ten minutes from the harbour.
The reef off Gili Air starts almost at the shoreline. Green and hawksbill turtles graze the seagrass most mornings, and you do not need to be a strong swimmer to see them.
We go out by traditional boat with a guide, masks and fins included, and we choose the site by the tide rather than by the timetable.
Good to know. Best conditions April to October. Reef-safe sunscreen only.
